About the Opportunity

The Hester Hornbrook Academy is a school that chooses to specialise in working with some of the most challenging and disengaged young people, in some of the most disadvantaged areas of Victoria. We work in order to ensure that every young person has equal access to quality education and the best possible opportunity to reach their full potential. Working closely with the IT Support Lead, IT Service Desk Team Leader and IT Infrastructure Manager, this role supports staff and the students of HHA through the delivery of client focused fit for purpose systems and processes, aligned service level agreements. All IT services are underpinned by ITIL and confirm to HHA frameworks. The IT Service Desk Officer position is responsible for providing professional and efficient support to all IT Systems utilised by both employee’s and students at Hester Hornbook Academy. As well as assisting with IT administrative tasks, and monitoring activities. HHA’s currently operates across four campuses - South Melbourne, Sunshine, Melbourne CBD and Prahran. A new campus based in Werribee will open in 2025. This purpose of this role will primarily be supporting staff and students at our new Werribee campus in 2025. Travel between campuses will be required at times. As the role commences in 2024, initially the role will be based at Sunshine. All campuses are located within close proximity to public transport.

  • Individual in class student support to assist students learning and engagement
  • Co-ordinating and being involved in Care team meetings
  • Access to our school Educational Psychologist for support
  • Providing individual social and emotional student assessments
  • Support with travel to and from school (access to student Myki cards)
  • Available food on offer throughout the day
  • Supporting students and their family

Essential:

  • Experience within an IT Service Desk environment including liaising with clients using a variety of technologies and support tools, including Windows 10, Office 365 and Active Directory.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and environments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning.
  • Ability to achieve results whether working autonomously or supervised with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to adhere to IT processes and security protocols.

The below would be found highly desirable:

  • Demonstrable understanding of ITIL principles and processes.
  • Experience working in Not for Profit Organisation.
  • Current Victorian Drivers Licence
