The MCM Early Childhood Intervention Program serves as a specialized service dedicated to aiding families with children (0-9 years old) with developmental delays or disabilities. Central to our approach is the recognition of the critical role of early interventions in fostering optimal long-term development. We engage in collaborative partnerships with families, valuing their skills, knowledge and involvement.

About you

We are looking for a degree qualified psychologist who can:

  • Can work alongside educators, allied health workers and youth workers to deliver mental health support to students 
  • Is excited about working in a multi-disciplinary team to find innovative new ways of working. 
  • Demonstrated experience in providing clinical support to young people and families, particularly those who have experienced trauma and adversity. 
  • Assess student needs and formulate relevant treatment plans. 
  • Assist with the develop of NDIS applications. 

What will you do?

 

  • Work alongside children, young people and their families to set goals, develop strategies and support their implementation.
  • Provide play-based therapeutic services focused on child and family goals for children in the child’s environment (home and education setting) or in the clinic.
  • Utilise skills and knowledge to provide goal driven family-centred programs to support families through a key worker model of practice and parent coaching.
  • Utilise your understanding of child development to evaluate and deliver evidence-based, holistic interventions for children.
  • Opportunity to develop specialist areas of interest.
  • Work collaboratively with other disciplines and stakeholders within the team to deliver high quality integrated therapy supports.

Essential:

  • Registered psychologist with AHPRA. 
  • Competence and confidence in diagnostic assessments (including WISC-V, WAIS-IV, Vineland 3, ABAS and autism assessment tools.)
  • Ability to implement effective caseload management strategies 
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to balance and deliver on case load requirements of the role.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other professionals to enhance the supports provided to young people and their support networks.
  • Computer literacy including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Current Driver’s licence and ability to access own vehicle.
  • Satisfactory completion of safety screening including a National Police check, International Police check (if required) a current Victorian Working with Children Check (Employee), current Victorian Drivers Licence, and the right to work
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team
