NDIS support coordination services in Bendigo

Melbourne City Mission is now working on the ground in Bendigo to support National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants.

Local team members Justine Capell and Kate Hingston joined MCM in January 2019 to support people with disability in the Loddon region with their NDIS plans by providing Support Coordination and Specialist Support Coordination.

Support Coordination is a service that assists NDIS participants to understand their funding plan, find and connect to providers, and coordinate their services.

“We support participants to understand and implement their plans, meet their goals and play a positive role in their lives,” Justine says.

Justine and Kate bring over 30 years’ combined experience in the disability sector to their roles, with Justine most recently working as a Local Area Coordinator to support the roll out of the NDIS in the region. After working on the road, Justine and Kate are now happily settling into their new office in the heart of Bendigo, where MCM is co-located with another organisation.

As Bendigo locals seeing the growing demand for NDIS services, Justine and Kate are enjoying the opportunity to give back to their community and feel proud to be part of MCM’s new presence in the area.

“As part of MCM, we receive great support from the wider MCM community. MCM have achieved a lot for the most vulnerable in our communities and I’m very proud to be a part of their roll out in our community,” Justine said.

MCM is an experienced, registered NDIS provider with a range of disability services across Victoria. MCM has been delivering NDIS services since the start of the trial in the Barwon region, and in the years since has continued to grow its services and expertise.
