Our response to COVID-19 and its impact on our services

COVID19 latest news update 8 April 2020

MCM recognises the effect the Coronavirus (COVID-19) is having on the community and our thoughts are with those who have been impacted here in Australia and around the world.

We are working to minimise service disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly for our most at-risk clients in disability, homelessness, palliative care, residential care and family service programs, to ensure the safety of our people, clients and community.

We are actively responding to a rapidly evolving environment. Some measures we’ve already taken include:

  • Introduced a special leave policy that ensures all employees, including casuals, can access two weeks paid leave for COVID-19 related absence
  • Reinforcing hygiene protocols
  • Changes or cancellations of non-essential physical meetings, excursions and events
  • Visitor restriction to some sites
  • Reducing personal contact in the delivery of some of our services to comply with the latest government health recommendations

MCM will continue to respond to the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services, (DHHS) and Australian Federal Government measures to limit the risk of exposure to the virus while sustaining essential services. We will continue to keep you updated as quickly as we can.

For the latest COVID-19 advice visit the DHHS website.
