About the Opportunity

MCM Early Years Hub Harnett House aims to provide a quality educational environment whilst supporting families to facilitate a holistic program, that views each individual as a valued part of the community. The Centre has 120 places open to the community and gives priority to families to the priority access guidelines set by the Commonwealth Government. We encourage close relationships with other MCM services. The lead educator will assist and support on the provision of high quality, responsive early childhood programs, through collaborative partnerships with families, other professionals and the local community.

About you

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of a creative educational and culturally appropriate program, which actively engages children
  • Support the learning, development, physical, social and emotional needs of the children as they participate in the program in a safe and supportive environment
  • Assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships and effective communication between families and the service providers
  • Participate in general professional development activities and maintain up to date knowledge of the Early Childhood Sector
  • Ensure that all children are treated equally to foster their self-esteem, cultural identity and independence

Essential:

  • Diploma of Children’s Service or equivalent qualification as approved by ACECQA.
  • Current HLTAID012 (or equivalent) and CPR certificates, or proof of enrolment. 
  • Substantial knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (and/or other relevant educational frameworks), Education and Care Services National Regulations and National Law. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to compose professional emails, generate quality child documentation, and engage in positive interactions with customers and stakeholders.
  • Confidence in the use of Storypark.
  • Presentable and punctual.
  • Commitment to confidentiality for families and children.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow direction given by Early Years staff, work autonomously, effectively time-manage, and prioritise tasks.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain strong relationships amongst team members.
  • Capacity to meet the physical requirements of the role, inclusive of bending, sitting/standing, and lifting.
  • A current Employee Working with Children Check or proof of application.
  • Capacity to respond appropriately to children at risk of harm or neglect, a current Mandatory Reporting Certificate, and knowledge of the Child Safe Standards.

  • Valid Victorian Drivers licence
  • Right to Work in Australia
