About the Opportunity

The Programs Lead is a key member of the Living Learning team, their role is to lead the development, organisation and delivery of the Living Learning adventure programs. The Programs Lead delivers the bush adventure and campus programs element of the Living Learning Program Logic.

The role, as part of a multidisciplinary student support team, aims to keep Living Learning students engaged with their education at Hester Hornbrook Academy. This includes providing support for students to deal with any barriers they are facing to engaging and achieving in their education and providing outreach support and transport to students when required.

About you

We are looking for someone who can:

  • Has experience engaging with young people facing barriers to education
  • Is excited about working in a multi-disciplinary team to find innovative new ways of working
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering trauma-informed programs and services for young people at risk or experiencing disengagement from education.
  • Experience in adventure activities including hiking, water sports, abseiling, and camping
  • Demonstrated experience in managing groups of students both in classrooms and in excursion environments.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships, including problem solving and communicating with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities.

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Education, including a current VIT registration.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering trauma-informed programs and services for young people at risk or experiencing disengagement from education.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing groups of students both in classrooms and in excursion environments.
  • Provide First Aid certificate (formerly First Aid Level 2).

  • Valid Victorian Drivers licence
  • Right to Work in Australia
